Nobody's Lost is the fifth installment of the Rescue Me Sage. This is, unexpectedly, Ryder and Megan's story. Ryder served along side Adam Montague in Fallujah. During a mission they had come under attack and lost a soldier. Just like the rest of his team, Ryder felt responsible. When he returned to the States he found a place to hide out from the world. He continued to suffer from nightmares and was overwhelmed by big cities. All that changed one night when Adam called Ryder and asked him to check on his sister, Megan.

When Ryder arrived at Megan's home he found out that she had been robbed while she was out. Her computer was stolen. The house had excellent security and someone figured out how to break it. It became Ryder's mission to protect Megan. Soon it became Megan's mission to save Ryder.

During their time together they begin a relationship of trust and friendship. They are both mutually attracted to each other. It's Megan who takes the first step and implies she wants more. Ryder has a difficult time excepting that he's good enough for Megan because he suffers from PTSD. However he's not the only suffering.

"You aren't the only one here who's damaged goods, Ryder. Know what? I can't have babies. I chose the coward's way out rather than suffer, so certain I would never meet someone I wanted to make babies with."

Megan leaves Ryder. "But if you need to hide out here alone, so be it." After she leaves Ryder decides he can no longer live his life hiding and chooses to come to terms with his issues.

"My life had come subsistent living, I kept people at arm's length or farther and shunned joy..and love. I met someone I think ould help become whole again. My prayer is that she will accept my imperfections."

In the end we discover what happened to Megan's computer and why it was taken. Ryder find his way home and Megan finally loses what she has been waiting for so long to give.

I really enjoyed this story. I found myself crying and wanting to hug Ryder. Ryder had gone off the grid and he thought he was lost. What he didn't know was that his friends were never far, although in a scary, intrusive way. Megan also was dealing with her inadequacies but had the courage to go after what she wanted. At the we find two strong individuals who are stronger together. Although we expect plenty of BDSM in Kallypso Master's books I appreciated how it played a very small part in this story. Nobody's Lost was centered around healing and new beginning.

Exposed is written as a autobiography of a woman who must find her place.  It's not a love story but a story of discovery and acceptance. 

"I'm writing this because I've been asked so often why I'm not married, why I do what I do, how I started and what does it "mean" even though that last question is pretty meaningless." 
  
Jessica Love, our protagonist and narrator, begins her story with early life events. In high school she learns an unfortunate lesson and her grandmother is there to provide solace. We are introduced to the reoccurring phrase that shaped who Jessica would become.

"Everything passes, everything weary, everything breaks.." 

Jessica shares two experiences that give us a glimpse of what makes her tick. What some may say are her perversions. 

Jessica graduates college as a lawyer and marries Mark who is also a lawyer.  They seem to marry because it was expected of them and not because they truly love each other.  Their lives became routine. Mark suggests a club that caters to different sexual proclivities.  They attend and enjoy the exhibitionism.  Soon they take it a step further that initiates the destruction of their marriage. Jessica's eventually moves on with her life to only find her freedom being taken from her. Although, Jessica gives us hints of possible future events I continue to be surprised when they occur.  I feel for Jessica and her plight to find her place.  When in France she meets her great uncle and aunt who furnish her with the ending of the phrase that has shaped her life.

Jessica returns home and moves forward to take back her life. In the end Jessica Love explains that some may judge her but she has simply made different decision.  

Jessica is a strong character that has to learn to accept herself. She has different tastes and finds herself taking on the world from an early age. From the beginning she attends high school and college parties allowing herself sexual gratification that many find taboo, labeling her as a slut. She deviates temporarily when she marries however that does not last long. Her proclivities are used against her and inadvertently take away her freedom.  In the end she finds herself with her grandmother's help.  Her grandmother early on makes a statement that sums up Jessica's challenges, "These Americans, obsessed by what they fear, fearing their own obsessions,". I enjoyed that this is not a love story, it's an exploration and acceptance of a different lifestyle.

Review

Marcus has just inherited his Grandfather's business with the stipulation that he needs to find a wife in 12 months. Not only does he need to find a wife, she must love him and stay its him for 2 years or he will lose the business.  Marcus is cold, heartless and a player.

Katia is a personal assistant working for a really bad boss. She's underpaid and over worked. When Katia is not working she's taking care of her mother. Her mother's health is poor from a botched surgery. She has not time for dating.

One night out with her friends she decides to find a guy for a one night-stand. She literally runs into Marcus finding  her one night stand.  The next morning she leaves before Marcus wakes up. She knows she can't stick around because Marcus is dangerous.

"A man like Marcus is dangerous for me. I don't have the time or patience to fall for someone like him. He'll destroy me. Crush me. Take my life in his hands and twist it until there's nothing but a pathetic, dangling string left."

At the beginning the book flips back and forth from current to the past. In the past we discover how their relationship developed.

In the present Katia long lost father appears Marcus's door. Katia recognizes Pierre right away. Pierre learns for the first time he has a daughter. Marcus warns Katia that Pierre is a dangerous man and
while doing so he also reveals he is also.

In the past Marcus spells out his feels or non-feelings for Katia right after they eloped.

"She's the right choice; I know that. And even though she doesn't know what she means to me, or what she doesn't mean to me, I know that I'm the right choice for her. At least that's what she thinks."

I the present after having some fun together Marcus finds himself developing feels for Katia.

"For a moment, just a moment, I let my guard down. I let myself open up and when I did, I felt fear. For her. For my wife. I felt a genuine fear that something happened to her. It's not an emotion that I've experienced in my life, and it's nothing I want to experience again. I can't let her in. This isn't how It's meant to go."


When Katia receives a visit at work and Marcus's extracurricular activities are revealed. Katia runs to her Father for answers. Unfortunately her father only collaborates the information she had received. Katia also meets her three brothers for the first time.

An envelope is left for Katia at work.  What's in the envelope? It destroys Katia.

I really enjoy Bella Jewel's books. This is another good dark erotic read. The past provides an understanding of how the relationship develops. Marcus is dark, hard, and unemotional.  He's only out for himself.  He even rationalized taking Katia as his wife, even though he doesn't love her, he feels she's benefiting from his wealth.  The story is a roller coaster ride.  At the end
Katia is forced off.  I can't wait for the next installment.

Dante had a darkness inside him that led him down a path of depravity. He was too far gone. He functioned on corruption, humiliation, power and retribution, and all for something that never happened.
What he forgets is this! I not only wear his face, I carry the darkness inside of me too, and my wrath will coat him with it so thick he will drown under the rain of my reckoning.
He wants Star, a memory of a girl he used to know. He stole Faye, a woman who owns my heart and is the cadence in mine.
I will find him.
I will take her from him.
And then I will kill him.

Review

The conclusion of the Deception series brings us back to Cade planning to take back Faye (aka Star). Cade and his crew find Dante's lair and make plans on rescuing Faye and elimating Dante.  They receive assistance from Blue in breaking into the security. It doesn't go as planned however they leave with Faye. Faye is hiding her secrets from Cade.  She does reveal to him that she's pregnant. Faye fears that Dante will reveal her secrets so she returns to Dante to try and destroy what he holds over her. We soon discover who has betrayed Faye and Dante. There are twists and turns that don't allow you to put the book down.

In the end reflecting back on the story it's Faye who unintentionally pits two twins against each other. One twin who is "broken beyond repair. He functioned on depravity, humiliation, power and retribution for something that never even happened." and the other who also has a dark side as an underground fighter and hungry for revenge. In the end only one can survive. I enjoyed the dark twisted plot. I don't think there is actually a happy ending but only an ending to the obsession.

The story begins with Star finding herself abducted and without memories. She doesn't know who she is, where she's from or how she was abducted.

"I don't know what to do. I had no idea of what would happen to me, never mind what...what anything. Dam it! It was all jumbled heap of nothing in my head, a deep, chasm filled with swirls that wanted me to grab onto them but it couldn't reach. Each memory was a spitting flash inside my mind that fizzled out when I thought I had grasped it."

Star is force to submit to Dante in order to survive. Right from the beginning she feels a connection to Dante that she cannot explain. An incident occurs that changes Star's course. Star is soon led to believe that she requested the abduction scene. She struggles in believing that she would make that type of request.

"He had a way of making me forget my questions. Forget the wrong in everything happening around me, to me. He made me feel responsible for taking away his apparently kinky and totally in love fiance."

Dante continues to domineer Star. He works hard to hide the truth from her. We learn a lot about Dante, including his underground dealings, his testing of a drug, and how and why Star was chosen. In the end Star slowly begins to regain her memory and pieces the puzzle of the story together.

I 100% recommend that you read the Dark Duet series before reading this novella. Kid is only nineteen years old, he had lost his parents to a tragic accident, joined a motorcycle club with his uncle who ended up decapitated and has become both Felipe and Celia's slave.

As time passes Kid becomes closer to Celia and Felipe however he is always worried about what they could do next to him. Felipe, like Celia, want Kid to give himself to them.

CJ Roberts explains why she didn't include this novella in the second volume she <i>"couldn't justify another hundred pages to an already enormous second volume"</i>. I would have enjoyed this story as a stand alone full length novel.

Elizabeth Deville was a heiress, now she finds herself taking care of her Mom who she placed in rehab and is almost broke. She does have two closest friends otherwise she feels like an outsider. One night after an argument her close friend, Cross, took off on his motorcycle and had a serious accident. After a few weeks of treatment at a specialized facility, Cross's parents are no longer willing to continue to pay for his specialized treatments. Elizabeth feels responsible and during a court hearing she offers to pay for the specialized treatment. She doesn't have the money so she decides to auction off the one thing she has that others may want.... her virginity.

Hunter, a poker player, an investor and a heir to his family's Bourbon business has found himself in the middle of a missing persons case. He was the last one with her before she had gone missing. Hunter is also being blackmailed by a porn actress, Priscilla, to keep his past hidden.

This book was intense. I could not read it fast enough. Elizabeth (Libby) doesn't fit in with her friends social class. She's no longer a heir to her family's business because her father sold it. We are first introduced to a very insecure Elizabeth.
"I'm still a fat girl. Not a lot fat. Just regular, eats-too-much-good-food fat. The kind of fat that curls the waist of my jeans down and creates an unattractive line of back fat between my pants and my top, just over the butt, when I sit crossed-legged, hunched over one of my textbook."
Elizabeth was attending a party at Hunter's home. At the party she found herself in Hunter's room and they had a brief encounter. Elizabeth had a crush on Hunter since she was a teenager. After she leave's Hunter's room, she runs into Cross. They have a few words, Cross takes off and the accident occurs.
As the story progresses and Elizabeth decides to auction off her virginity, she losses weight and begins to tone up. She arrives as a "virgin at a brothel" in better shape but still insecure because she's a virgin. I couldn't have been happier with who won the auction.
"I've sold my virginity. I can't believe anyone paid $10 million for my hymen."
After the auction the story takes a couple of twists and turns, intense page turners. Ella James hit the mark! 5 intense, sexy and intriguing stars.

Synopsis

Then she lays eyes on Hendrix. He's the Captain, he's gorgeous, rugged, and mean. He's planning on keeping her to repay his debt to another man, by selling her. Now Indigo has a crazy ex after her, as well as a pirate she can't seem to get out of her head.

Come on this heart wrenching, dark, angsty and dangerous adventure as two people so opposite, find something so beautiful.

Ahoy pirates. A modern day pirate adventure that includes danger, abduction and hot steamy sex. Indigo and Eric set sail to Europe to escape from Indi's ex who has been recently been released from jail. All goes bad on the ocean when the yacht goes on fire. Indigo and Eric are eventually picked up by pirates after several days at sea. Hendrix, the pirate captain, plans on giving Indigo to another pirate (Chopper) to repay his debt. However with some assistance Eric and Indigo escape. A run in with her ex (Kane) sending her back to Captain Hendrix. Alas me heartie I will end this with there is a twist ( I'm sure you probably saw it coming) and another abduction that will lead us to another pirate adventure with Jess and Dimitri. I can't wait!!!!

 Kelli Maine has combined two of my favorite genres into one awesome Dark MC series. At the beginning of the book we are introduced to Lilith and Lucifer (Luc). Luc is part of a Motorcycle Club and is in charge of of training women to sell as sex slaves. It's his specialty.

"Not many of us can accept the darkness inside; that's why they leave this shit to me.
I am fuckin darkeness.
A fuckin' shadown man."

Lilith is taken

"Say goodbye to life as you know it, bitch. You're mine now."

It turns out she is pure evil. Luc knows from the start that Lilith is not right for his club's plans. He decides to get rid of her however she gets under his skin and he leaves her alive. Luc has a hard time forgetting about Lilith.

I know you.
I am you.
If it's true, then it's a fuckin tragedy. Nobody should be like me."

The club still has a deadline too meet and needs a replacement. The club finds a replacement and begins her training. Luc is her trainer and only has a week to get her ready before she's sold. Luc starts to develop feeling for her and finds away to push them down.

At the end Lilith reappears with a message. Now we wait to find out what that messages really means. This is great start to the series. I couldn't put it down. I needed to know where the plot was heading. I need more crazy, evil Lilith! This story is dark and dangerous, and the MC proves to the worst of it's kind.

This is Porter and Kenzie's story and The 5th in the Club Sin series. When Kenzie is at Club Sin she's a 'Brat'. She misbehaves in order to provoke a a Dom into punishing her. Porter has been assigned to Kenzie in order to gain his Master's status at the club. He had been watching Kenzie for a while and was ready for the challenge. What he didn't know was he would fall for her. Kenzie was hiding secrets from her Dom and her friends. Secrets that could hurt her and were consuming her. Porter had a difficult job getting Kenzie to open up. . This story provoked all sorts of emotions. I cried, laughed and smiled. Although the first few pages struck me as slightly corny I really enjoyed the story. We got to know and understand Kenzie. Her past was consuming her and her present was falling apart. Porter had the right amount of patience, confidence and self doubt. He saw into Kenzie's soul and wanted in and not just as a friend. The question is will she let him in? Will she share her secrets? I can't wait for the next Club Sin book. Sawyer and Chloe?

The King is the 6th book in the Original Sinners Series. I 100% recommend you read the series in order.

Kingsley Edge is visiting with Grace and shares his story. Kingsley at twenty-eight years old is lost. He's no longer living until he reconnects with Soren after eleven years. Soren seeks Kingsly help with freeing Nora. Kingsly assists with Nora's situation and Soren assists with bringing Kingsley back to life. Kingsley hires Sam to be his personal assistant. Now that Kingsley is living again he devises a plan to build a BDSM club where he could be 'King' and he can watch over all his people. He also wanted and had promised to given Soren a dungeon.

"I wanted this club for you." Kingsley confessed. "The truth is, I was building it for you. I wanted you to have somewhere safe you could go and be you. Because I love you."

"That day in the Rolls when we went to visit your sister, I promised you I would build you a castle, and you said to build you a dungeon instead. Why not both in one? I promise someday."

Kingsley had chosen a building that was currently owned by Reverend Fuller from WTF (oops, I ment WTL) ministries. A conservative organization against all things perverted. Unfortunately Sam had a very bad experience with the WTL. Fortunately she met Kingsley and together they would find away to get the building so Kingsley could have his kingdom. I really enjoyed Kingsley story. We discovered his motives for establishing the Eighth Circle, where the name came from and why he wears his frock. I am totally captivated by Tiffany Reisz and her Eighth Circle.

Dom Wars Round 1 is a very interesting spin on Dom/sub relationship. Doms are paired off in a competition to find the best Dom. There is a big cash prize that both Lucian Bane and Tara Reese both desperately need. Lucian and Tara meet on line waiting to test for the competition. Lucian warns Tara off of the competition knowing she's not a Dom. They end up together in the competition. The stories premise is unbelievable and the characters are a mess. Really Lucian cries? Cries? One Dom has to sub at different times. Okay maybe, no I don't think so. To be honest couldn't put this train wreck down. Onto Dom Wars Round 2

Dom Wars Round 2 continues Lucian and Tara's partnership in being the ultimate Dom. They are now competing in a Global Dom Wars. They are given challenges that are more for an ultimate warrior then a Dom. Lucian becomes a whiner in this round. He doesn't know if Tara cares about him or just the competition. He's developed feels for her and she hasn't reciprocated. I'm not sure if either is a Dom. I'm still struggling with the premise and the characters.

Dom Wars Round 2 continues Lucian and Tara's partnership in being the ultimate Dom. They are now competing in a Global Dom Wars. They are given challenges that are more for an ultimate warrior then a Dom. Lucian becomes a whiner in this round. He doesn't know if Tara cares about him or just the competition. He's developed feels for her and she hasn't reciprocated. I'm not sure if either is a Dom. I'm still struggling with the premise and the characters.

In this final installment of Hansel our questions are answered and more details are revealed. Hansel Part 4 picks up in front of Mother's house with Lucas providing us more details of his past. In Mother's house Lucas pushes himself too far and goes over the edge. Lucas admits partial truth to Leah and an unexpected person reveals the remainder. There are a few surprises that gives us a more human side to Lucas. The end can be best summarized with the simple quote "Together, baby, all we need is half to make a whole." I enjoyed the series and the twists. Ella James is the queen of erotic, twisted and dark fairy tales!
